The initial filing for a divorce appeal can reach several hundred dollars, therefore one of the most serious downsides of filing an appeal is that they can be expensive. As the appealing party, you will be responsible for the copies of all pleadings, written opinions, exhibits and briefs.
How long can my case be pending?
Family law divorce appeals usually take several months, except for rare emergency appeals. Many things can happen within your family during this time which can be hard to predict. This may make an appeal moot or even irrelevant to the new circumstances.
